This three-act play criticizes Victorian and English society as it veers from a typical "who done it" to exploring the deeper question of "what did it." A celebratory evening at the prosperous Birling family home is interrupted by the arrival of the mysterious Inspector Goole. Their peaceful dinner party is shattered by Inspector Goole's investigations into the death of a young woman named Eva Smith. His startling revelations shake the very foundations of the family's lives, expose uncomfortable truths, and challenge us all to examine our consciences.
In 2025 the Genesian Theatre Company will honour both our legacy and an exciting new future. Not only do we celebrate 80 years as theatre-makers, we open our brand new theatre in Rozelle. We use this opportunity to uphold the values and traditions that are so important to Genesians, whilst infusing some new energy, new ideas and a new lease of life as we move into a new space and join a new community. Please join us by supporting An Inspector Calls, our first show in the new theatre.
